china family planning association Home International Cooperation

Since its establishment nearly 27 years ago, CFPA has made remarkable progress in institutional development. Over that period, CFPA has identified RH, women’s development and democratic participation and supervision as its major strategic programs. CFPA has established international cooperation with more than 10 international agencies and organizations through its innovative programs, and has developed bilateral relationship with more than 30 countries. Following are some of the organizations which CFPA has close relations and program cooperation, such as:
International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF)
United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)
The Ford Foundation
Japan Trust Fund
Program for Appropriate Technology in Health (PATH)
Netherlands Government
Japanese Organization for International Cooperation in Family Planning (JOICFP)
Public Media Center (PMC)
Partners in Population and Development

CFPA has gained some experiences in certain areas such as adolescent sexual and reproductive health education, HIV/AIDS prevention, women’s empowerment, as well as reproductive health advocacy to the religious leaders. Some of the experiences might be useful to other developing countries.
Meanwhile, CFPA needs to learn from the experiences of other countries so as to improve its own approaches and to develop more innovative programs. Through overseas study/observation tours, CFPA volunteers and staff will be able to learn more and understand better the experiences in NGO management and effective approaches to providing RH information and services.
